Feast your eyes on these, ladies!!!

Just as something to cheer up a dismal January, here is my list of top ten Netflix and Amazon  PRIME HOTTIES!

10.  Striding around in tight pants and slipping in at number 10, Jonathan Rhys Meyers who is surely as far away from the real Henry VIII as you could possibly get, but do we care?  Far more sexy than the romantic hero style Henry Cavill in The Tudors, I thought.

9.  Wouldn't mind snuggling under a bearskin with number nine - the totally lush Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok in VIKINGS!

8.  I LOVE Michael Kenneth Williams, as both Omar in The Wire and Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire - hell, I even liked him as the tramp in The Road!

7.  Who wouldn't want to be Jax Teller's old lady?  Give or take the gang violence and his not very cute way of putting all Sons of Anarchy business before you, of course - oh, but, Charlie Hunnam, you can get away with it!!

(ps, were Jax and Ragnar separated at birth?)

6.  Chain smoking and 'old fashioned' drinking along at number 6, sexy 1960s ad man Don Draper in Mad Men, played by Jon Hamm.  I wasn't keen at first, thinking him just a knitting pattern, Mills and Boon type tall dark and handsome stereotype, but then he became more interesting....

Oh go on, shall we have another?

5.  The pictures don't do him justice, but Matthew McConnaughy was at his lush best as Rust Cohle in True Detective!  Oh, that accent, that cynical way of looking at the world, those hidden depths...

4.  I always thought Damian Lewis was just some actor who people fancy because they're told they do in women's magazines - until I saw him as Nick Brody in Homeland.  I'm sure I lusted after him even more than poor Carrie!  I think it's the way those barriers break down, just occasionally....

3.  At number three, as my sister said, "Who cares if he's an alcoholic, he can sober up in the morning!"  Easing himself up to the podium to collect his bronze medal, guitar in hand, is the divine Deacon Claybourne in Nashville, played by Charles Esten.  Oh, Deacon, Deacon, sing a song for me - no, on second thoughts, never mind the song...

2.  Swaggering up to claim the silver medal is the totally phwooooaaaarrr Norman Reedus, aka Daryl Dixon in The Walking DeadWho cares about the end of the world ~ just you, me and your crossbow in a cave somewhere would do just fine!

1.  Fanfare!!!!

Yes, my Top TV Lust Object is the glorious Sawyer from Lost ~ in other words, Josh Holloway.  Any woman who says she wouldn't is either blind or lying!  Feast your eyes, ladies.....

What's that?  This whole exercise was just an excuse to post pictures of Josh Holloway on my blog?  No, no, no, of course it wasn't.....

Oh, whoops, another one slipped in there by mistake....

Okay, okay, I'll pack it in now...

  1. I commend your taste, apart from Damian Lewis, whom I really liked in The Forsyte Saga, but I found completely annoying and h***ish in Homeland, with his stupid little mouth. Plus, he thinks he's all that, he's got so up himself since Homeland. I haven't watched half these programmes, but really like the chap at No. 1, what a babe! (When you say you slipped another one in there, bet you wish he would, hur hur hur!)

    1. Hur hur hur indeed! Much of the time I could hardly watch Lost, because I couldn't bear that he will never be mine!!!! Mark also got fed up with me sitting there gnawing my knuckles and making noises of strangled despair, too. Hur hur hur!!!

    2. I couldn't believe in the newer version of Forsyte Saga simply because I thought Irene was not beautiful enough (see Nyree Dawn Porter in the original series) but mostly because Jolyon looked a complete wimp against Damien Lewis as Soames and who I would have gone for like a ton of bricks.

    3. I remember Nyree Dawn Porter as Irene!!! Showing our age here, my dear! :)

  2. You do make me laugh TT! What a collection of hunks! I think I would gather them all together and rotate them as 3,2 and 1 as long as I could keep testing, I'd never need to choose who tops the list :)

    1. That's the spirit!!!!! Julia doesn't share my taste in the roughy-toughy adventurer/biker/Viking type but even she could see the allure of number one!!! Oh well, I enjoyed doing it!!!

  3. Hahaha .... this reminds me that I am nearly 65..just not into all these 'hunks'. Now, if you had pics of John Thaw (the late) , Alan Rickman and some of the older actors etc...I'd be licking the screen

    1. The vast majority of them are in the 40s, CJ, if not all of them, and a couple are 50ish - hardly youths!!!!! I did have Bryan Cranston in at number 10, and he's about 57, but then realised I'd forgotten Jonathan Rhys Meyers....

I do know what you mean, tho - I've never gone for the younger man, and I do like men who look like men, not pretty boys. When we were watching The Walking Dead recently and I started going 'phwwwwoooar' over number 2, Husband said 'Do you have to be so predictable'? I suppose I do have a 'type'....!

    2. Carol, I'm in my 30s and all three of my top chaps are 57. They're long, long-standing crushes (20+ years in one case, that's dedication!)!

    3. Catherine, I think I ought to make it a top 20 - I did originally have Bryan Cranston in it, and he is 57, but I took him off because I had forgotten J Rhys M! Anyway, none of these are under 40,except possiblly Charlie Hunnam. I think my ideal is 45-55 :) (Appropriate as I am 55 with a 49 year old spouse, I guess!) Thanks for looking and commenting. :)

  5. Wow!!! I'm completely with you on Chalky, Don Draper and Sawer but not sure about the others. I think I would have had Jamie Lannister, with or without his hand and Raylan Givens from Justified. :D

    1. Ah, but Game of Thrones is not on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video, though I agree I should have stretched a point! Perhaps I should do a top 20, just so I could include him too! haven't seen Justified, should I???!!

    2. I think you might like Justified- it's definitely worth a try. I think it's really well written and Raylan is an interesting character. At first he seems like a bit of a pretty boy but he's very flawed. I fancy him anyway :D

  7. I have to agree with most of them...Damian Lewis has 'something' about him but I found his character in Homeland a tad annoying at times. I'm homing he'll be better in Wolf Hall. Having watched Benedict Cumberbatch in the Imitation Game last night, I think I'd have to add him into the mix and Ian Somerhalder has eyes and cheekbones to die for...as for Travis, Norman, Josh and Charlie...I concur!

    1. Ahhh, I knew you would like the Viking/biker/adventurer/rock star type ones, like me!!!! I'm not a B Cumberpatch fan, al though I like him acting wise. NOt that familiar with Ian S, will investigate! As for Damian Lewis - I think it was just Brody I fancied, but he is a good actor, excellent in Band of brothers - roll on Wolf Hall, can't wait!

  8. WHAT? Not a single Son Of Anarchy? Excuse or not, thanks for posting Josh Holloway.

    1. Josh Holloway - I mean, he must look in the mirror every morning and think, "Thank you, GOD!", mustn't he? As for what his wife must think when she sees him in the shower ..... if she doesn't cross herself and whisper, "Why me, why me?", as she gets in next to him, then she damn well ought to!!!!

  9. OOPS. I stand corrected. I missed one!

  10. This is just the most perfect way to cheer me up on a cold grey Wednesday morning! And I have to thank you for all the pics of Josh Holloway *swoon*. Unfortunately Lost isn't on Netflix anymore so I'll have to find another way to drool over him ;)
